Regular price $62

The Cailloux vineyard, named for its stony, heat-retaining soils layered over granite, yields wines bursting with personality and mineral drive. Bright red cherry and raspberry leap from the glass, accompanied by delicate florals and whispered spice that hint at the vineyard's rocky character. Silky yet structured on the palate, with refined tannins and lively acidity, it pulses with the vitality of Morgon's granite slopes. Daniel Bouland's meticulous, site-focused approach shines through in every sip, revealing a wine that's both approachable and deeply expressive. A Beaujolais that captivates and rewards discovery.

The 2023 Morgon Bellevue Cailloux presents a bolder, coarser character than the Sable, with deep, dark fruit notes that evoke stewed berries, violet and licorice. On the palate, it offers a rugged structure marked by coarse, large-grained tannins that anchor the wine, keeping it firmly grounded. However, a lush layer of fruit blankets the tannins, adding a velvety cushioning. 90+Pts, Drink 2026-2034 - Kenna Wells, The Wine Advocate
