Gaja Barolo Dagromis 2020

From one of Piedmont's most respected producers comes this refined take on Barolo. The 2020 Dagromis draws its character from Nebbiolo grown across La Morra and Serralunga d'Alba, two distinct landscapes that lend both elegance and structure to the final wine. You'll find red cherry, rose and violet on the nose, with hints of licorice and earth emerging as it opens. The palate is composed and balanced, with bright acidity and silky tannins that feel natural rather than heavy. It's the kind of wine that rewards you immediately but also has the backbone to age gracefully. A genuine expression of what makes Barolo special.

"Crushed cherry, rose petal and hot slate aromatics. Dark cherry fruit fills on entry with lift of red florals carried by fine acidity. It rolls into a deeper and savoury mid palate with dark spices, black stone and wood shavings all apparent. Tannins firmly grip but don't clip so the finish is very long, detailed and precise."
