Foillard has worked his family domaine since 1980, becoming one of the key Morgon producers influenced by Jules Chauvet and Marcel Lapierre and their return to traditional, low-intervention winemaking.

Côte du Py is Morgon’s great hillside, its decomposed granite and schist soils producing Gamay of unusual depth, structure and mineral character. Foillard’s interpretation has become a benchmark: serious and capable of ageing, yet always remarkably fragrant and silky.

2024 is a particularly exciting vintage here. Cooler and more classical than many recent years, it favours freshness, perfume and finesse over sheer ripeness. Vivid cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry are joined by violets, spice and a distinctly stony mineral character. The palate is fine and energetic, with supple tannins, bright acidity and Foillard’s signature silky texture carrying through a long, fragrant finish.

Whole-cluster fermentation with native yeasts, long maceration and élevage in neutral oak, with minimal intervention in the cellar.

One of the great expressions of Gamay and a beautiful vintage for those who love Foillard at his most transparent and elegant.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0843/3428/0897/files/Jean_Foillard_Morgon_C_te_du_Py_2024.png?v=1791257272
