A playful yet soulful red from Olek Bondonio, one of Piedmont’s most exciting young artisan producers whose first vintage began in 2005 when he returned to his family’s historic Barbaresco home La Berchialla and committed himself to organic, low intervention winemaking rooted in the great vineyards of the Langhe. The 2023 Mosca Ubriaca is made from hand tended Barbera grapes grown on rolling limestone and clay soils of Piemonte and vinified with minimal interference so that energy and freshness come first. Aromas of ripe red and black cherries mingle with gentle spice and earth while the bright, juicy palate carries vibrant acidity and fine texture. A wine that combines the spirited soul of its name with the purity of place and the quiet dedication of its maker.
