The Sangiovese was propagated from cuttings taken from a small vineyard growing in Alessandro's great-aunties' vegetable garden in Tuscany. Later ripening and producing larger berries than most clones, it brings a distinctive, site-specific character entirely its own to the Yarra Valley.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSourced from The Gate vineyard, organically farmed and fully destemmed with the berries left uncrushed to preserve brightness. A gentle 18-day maceration in stainless steel with light extraction through occasional pump-overs. After pressing, the wine spent 24 months in large 1,500-litre Slavonian oak barrels on fine lees before bottling in March 2026. Unfined, unfiltered and with only a small addition of sulphur at 12.4% alcohol.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA beautifully light and fragrant take on Sangiovese.
