Wildeberg Chenin Blanc Paarl South Africa 2023
I've been recommending this one to everyone. It's a Hand harvested Chenin Blanc from bush vines planted in 1977, nearly 50 years of history rooted in Paarl's granite-rich Smuts Block, and it shows in every sip. Expect bright stone fruit and citrus with a mineral edge that speaks to the decomposed granite soil, layered with subtle honey and white flowers from the wild fermentation. The 12 months in seasoned oak adds texture without overwhelming the wine's natural elegance. It's dry-grown, hand-harvested, and built to age, but it drinks beautifully now. This is the kind of wine that reminds you why old vines matter: complexity, balance, and a sense of place you can taste.
