Alice & Olivier de Moor Bourgogne Rouge 2024

Regular price $110

Alice and Olivier de Moor are best known for their white wines, which makes this Bourgogne Rouge 2024 a genuine rarity. Produced under the Le Vendangeur Masqué label, it is made from Pinot Noir sourced from the Mâconnais, from a vineyard in its third year of conversion to organic farming.

The grapes were harvested as whole bunches and macerated for three weeks before being aged in a combination of barrels and amphora. The wine was then blended prior to bottling, allowing the different élevage vessels to come together while preserving the freshness and delicate character of the fruit.

The de Moors describe this wine simply as pretty, and it is exactly that: light, fragrant and finely textured, with delicate red fruit, freshness and an effortless drinkability. It has the finesse and purity that make their wines so distinctive, but in a rare red Burgundy expression that you don't often see from the domaine.

Made in very small quantities, this is a particularly unusual glimpse of Alice and Olivier de Moor outside their better-known Chablis whites. A delicate, beautifully perfumed Pinot Noir with plenty of personality — and, quite simply, a very rare de Moor red.
