From the hands of Jeff Coutelou, one of the key figures in modern Languedoc natural wine, Mise du Printemps 2024 is a pure expression of 100% Grenache grown on organically farmed clay-limestone soils around Puimisson in the Hérault. The estate has long been a reference for low-intervention winemaking in the south of France, with hand-harvesting, native fermentations and minimal or no additions in the cellar, allowing the fruit to speak with maximum clarity and immediacy.

The 2024 vintage is built around freshness, drinkability and pure fruit expression. Aromatically it shows bright red cherry, wild strawberry and raspberry, with a lifted floral tone and a subtle herbal edge typical of Grenache from the Languedoc garrigue. On the palate it is juicy and supple, driven by soft, fluid Grenache fruit rather than structure, with a light frame, gentle tannins and a sappy, almost crunchy red berry core. The finish is clean, slightly spicy and moreish, leaning into the wine’s natural energy rather than weight or extraction.

This is quintessential “vin de soif” from the south: unforced, vibrant and highly drinkable, but still grounded in real vineyard character. Coutelou’s approach consistently prioritises purity and immediacy over polish, and Mise du Printemps sits firmly in that philosophy—wine made for pleasure without compromise.
