This feels like the most fun bottle at the table. From the moment you smell it, it is so expressive and generous without being heavy.

On the nose you get juicy red berries, think ripe strawberry and raspberry, with this lovely floral lift, like a little perfume of wild herbs and rosewater. There is a soft spice note too, a touch of white pepper and dried herbs, but it never feels loud. It just smells delicious and easy.

On the palate it is bright and juicy, really approachable. The fruit is ripe and lively, the texture is soft and smooth, and the acidity keeps it moving so it never feels flabby or heavy. The tannins are gentle, almost silk-like, so it is easy to drink but still very interesting. That hint of spice rounds everything out and gives it a little twist on the finish.

The story behind it makes it even better in the glass. This is another one that reflects Taras and Amber Ochota’s whole-hearted approach to making wine, low intervention, wild ferments, real attention to fruit and place. It is not trying to be something it is not. It is honest, juicy, fun and very drinkable.

If you are looking for a Grenache that feels playful yet grounded, lively yet balanced, this is a great one. Feels like sunshine in a glass, vibrant, engaging and just really enjoyable.
