Château Lafitte is one of the benchmark estates of Jurançon, known for producing precise, terroir-driven wines that reflect the dramatic meeting point of Atlantic influence and Pyrenean altitude in Southwest France. The estate works under certified organic (AB) farming, with a strong focus on vineyard health and low-intervention winemaking to preserve clarity and site expression across its dry and sweet cuvées.

Sec 2024 is a dry Jurançon made from 80% Petit Manseng and 20% Gros Manseng, grown in the Jurançon Sec region of Southwest France. The fruit is harvested to balance natural ripeness with the naturally high acidity of these varieties, then fermented with native yeasts and spontaneous fermentation in 500L barrels. The wine is aged for 9 months on fine lees in the same barrels, building texture and subtle complexity while maintaining precision and lift, and is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

On the palate, Petit Manseng (80%) provides structure, concentration and citrus-driven acidity, while Gros Manseng (20%) contributes aromatic lift and juicier orchard and stone fruit tones. The aromatics show citrus peel, pineapple, quince and ripe orchard fruit, layered with fresh bread dough, wild herbs and a gentle floral nuance. The palate is broad yet focused, moving from ripe fruit generosity into a firm mineral line and a subtle saline edge that gives shape and persistence. Drinkability sits comfortably now, with potential to evolve and develop complexity through to 2032+.

What defines the wine is its balance between richness and tension: the natural generosity of Petit Manseng and Gros Manseng is framed by freshness and mineral drive, resulting in a dry Jurançon that feels both expressive and controlled. The barrel élevage adds quiet texture without overt oak influence, allowing vineyard character and varietal identity to remain central throughout.
