Hofgut Falkenstein

Hofgut Falkenstein is one of the Saar's most uncompromising traditional estates. Run by Erich and Johannes Weber, the domaine works organically with old, partially ungrafted vines on steep slate and quartz soils, fermenting spontaneously in traditional large oak fuder with minimal intervention and very low yields. The result is Riesling of extraordinary precision, tension and site transparency.

The estate's approach is defined by cask-level bottling: each Fuder is vinified and bottled separately, giving each wine a snapshot of a specific barrel and parcel within the vintage rather than a blended estate expression. These are not crowd-pleasing Rieslings. They are architectural, austerely beautiful, and built for the long arc of time.

  • Kugel Peter Kabinett — Krettnacher Euchariusberg, off-dry, electric acidity, smoky slate and lime zest
  • Mutter Anna Kabinett Trocken — Niedermenniger Herrenberg, ultra-dry, razor-focused, saline and crystalline

Saar Riesling at its most precise and uncompromising.
