Pala Soprasole Vermentino Sardinia Italy 2024
The sun warms our shoulders, the sea shimmers nearby, and we're sitting around the table with a glass of Pala Soprasole Vermentino di Sardegna 2024 in hand. From the family-owned vineyards of Sardinia, every bottle carries the care and attention of generations working the sunlit hills.
Soprasole means 'above the sun', a tribute to the stunning Sardinian landscape of brilliant light, white cliffs and emerald vineyards. The grapes are 100% Vermentino, a variety considered indigenous to the island, sourced from the Is Crabilis vineyard in Ussana, where 45-year-old vines grow in calcareous soils at around 150 to 180 metres above sea level.
Lifted aromas of lemon zest, white peach and wild herbs mingle with the salty breeze, a soft floral note weaving through each sip. It's the kind of wine that invites slow drinking, gentle conversation, and laughter spilling across the table.
On the palate it's bright and fresh, citrus and orchard fruit with a touch of saline energy keeping it lively and utterly drinkable. Fermented in stainless steel with natural yeasts and aged on lees for four months, it has just enough texture to hold your attention without losing any of its freshness.
Perfect chilled, best enjoyed with friends or family, letting the warmth of Sardinia and the care of the Pala family shine through every glass. A natural match for seafood, grilled fish or anything lightly seasoned.
