Mark Haisma Cornas 2021

I was genuinely happy to add this to the site, it just feels right here. An Australian making Syrah in Cornas, but with a sensitivity that really respects the place.

It opens dark and savoury, black fruit, violet, pepper and that iron edge you expect from Cornas, but there’s a purity to it that keeps pulling me back. Nothing feels overdone, just very clear and honest.

On the palate it’s structured but not heavy. The tannins are there, but fine, giving shape without taking over. It feels serious, but still easy to enjoy with a bit of air.

A bottle I’m really glad to share.
