A landmark Sicilian natural wine and one of the most iconic amphora-aged reds in Italy. COS has been at the forefront of organic and minimal-intervention winemaking since 1980, reviving ancient techniques while allowing the unique character of Vittoria's soils and indigenous grapes to shine.

Made from Nero d'Avola and Frappato, the traditional grapes of Cerasuolo di Vittoria, Pithos Rosso is fermented with native yeasts and aged in underground terracotta amphorae. This ancient method creates a wine of incredible purity, texture and energy, with the fruit expression preserved while adding depth and complexity.

The 2023 vintage shows aromas of wild cherry, red berries, violets, Mediterranean herbs and earthy spice. The palate is vibrant and elegant, with juicy red fruit, fine tannins, refreshing acidity and a long savoury, mineral finish. Light on its feet but full of character, it captures the wild soul of Sicilian winemaking.
