Matassa Olla Blanc 2024

Hazy gold, lightly sun-kissed and alive in the glass, Olla Blanc 2024 moves with a kind of restless energy — never still, never polished, always in motion.

From the old vines of Roussillon, where wind, altitude and stone shape everything more than human hands, this is a wine born of Grenache Gris and its companions — a field blend that shifts slightly with each parcel, each season, each decision made in the vineyard rather than the cellar.

There is no attempt here to refine or correct. Fermentations happen on their own terms, textures are left unfiltered, and the wine is allowed to keep its edges. What remains is something alive and slightly unpredictable — like breath over warm stone.

The aromatics open in flickers: lemon peel and citrus oil first, then white peach, bruised apple and wild fennel. Beneath that, a thread of something more herbal, almost coastal — thyme, sage, and dry Mediterranean scrub after heat. A faint stony reduction rises and falls as the wine opens in the glass.

On the palate, it doesn’t walk a straight line. It spills and gathers, citrus and orchard fruit moving through a grain of gentle phenolics, carried by bright, almost restless acidity. The finish is long, saline, and lightly bitter — like crushed herbs and sea air lingering after sun.

A wine that feels less made than found — shaped by landscape more than intention.
