A pure and quietly profound Malbec from the high desert of Patagonia, the 2023 A Lisa from Bodega Noemia reflects one of South America's most distinctive fine wine projects, shaped by old vines, altitude and a deep respect for place.

Bodega Noemia is the partnership of Countess Noemi Marone Cinzano and Danish winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers, who were drawn to the remote Río Negro valley after discovering remarkable old Malbec plantings dating back to the 1930s. The project began by reviving these nearly forgotten vineyards, working initially with hand-harvested fruit and traditional, low-intervention techniques in humble surroundings. Today, the estate continues to focus on organic farming and old vine material, with a strong emphasis on preserving the energy and character of these original plantings.

A Lisa is sourced from younger vines within this broader vineyard mosaic, offering a more immediate expression of the estate's philosophy. The wine opens with lifted aromas of red and dark cherry, plum, violet, dried herbs and subtle graphite, with a cool, almost alpine freshness despite its latitude.

The palate is elegant and finely structured, with supple tannins and bright acidity carrying pure red and dark berry fruit through a long, savoury finish. There is a quiet intensity here rather than overt power, with balance and clarity sitting at the core of the wine.

A refined and articulate expression of Patagonian Malbec that speaks more of finesse and energy than extraction, and clearly reflects the unique pedigree of the Noemia project.
