This is such a classic Ochota wine. You can feel that Adelaide Hills cool straight away. It’s bright, almost electric, but still soft and relaxed at the same time.

Taras Ochota always made wines that felt honest, like they weren’t trying too hard. A bit rock and roll, but super precise. He worked all over the world before starting Ochota Barrels with Amber, and you can tell there’s confidence here. Nothing overdone. Just really well grown fruit and a light touch in the winery.

You get that lemon zest and crisp apple first, then a bit of nectarine. There’s this flinty, mineral line that keeps it tight. No heavy oak, no butter. It’s more about tension and freshness. It feels alive.

What I love is that it doesn’t shout. It just quietly builds in the glass. You take another sip and it makes more sense. It’s the kind of Chardonnay you drink because you love Chardonnay, not because you want something flashy.

Super pure. Super drinkable. Very Ochota.
