This Riesling from Kuitpo in the Adelaide Hills is wild, textured and full of character. Nine days on skins and ten months on full lees in large oak have given it a richness that makes every sip feel alive.
In the glass it is hazy amber and the palate delivers immediately. Caramel apples and honeyed citrus lead, followed by wild herbs, damp hay and a whisper of mineral that keeps it bright and intriguing. The texture is almost tactile, creamy yet lifted, with a persistent, savoury finish that makes you reach for another sip.
It is a Riesling that tastes as alive as it looks, complex but approachable, perfect to sip slowly and savour each layer.
