Rafael Palacios Louro Godello Valdeorras 2024
From the steep granite terraces of Valdeorras, Rafael Palacios' Louro 2024 is a benchmark expression of Godello, where altitude, old vines and careful élevage bring both tension and quiet richness.
Sourced from hillside vineyards and fermented in large oak, then rested on lees for around four months, it builds texture without losing its precision or sense of place.
The nose is layered and mineral, showing lime zest, green apple and white flowers alongside fennel, herbs and a subtle savoury edge. On the palate it is taut yet gently rounded, balancing citrus-driven freshness with a waxy, almost glyceric texture. There is a clear mineral backbone and a faint saline note that carries through to a long, dry finish.
A more structured, quietly powerful style of Spanish white — sitting somewhere between coastal freshness and understated depth. A natural match for grilled seafood, white meats or dishes with texture and weight.
