Santiago Ruiz Albariño O Rosal 2024 comes from Tomiño in the O Rosal subzone, the southernmost area of Rías Baixas along the river Miño, which forms the natural border with Portugal. This coastal position delivers a distinct microclimate: more sunshine and warmth than other parts of Rías Baixas, but still strongly moderated by Atlantic breezes and river airflow. The combination of granitic soils and cool night temperatures gives wines here both ripeness and a firm mineral spine.

The 2024 blend is led by an unusually high proportion of Albariño (81%), complemented by Loureiro, Treixadura, Caíño Blanco and a touch of Godello. Each variety is vinified separately under the direction of Luisa Freire, with lees ageing playing a central role in building texture, complexity and structure while preserving freshness and aromatic clarity.

The wine shows an expressive balance of ripe stone fruit and citrus drive, with juicy peach and orchard fruit layered over a saline, granitic framework. There’s a tactile, slightly spicy edge on the palate, supported by bright Atlantic acidity and a clean, mineral finish that keeps everything focused and energetic.
