Established by Gary Farr in 1994 following his time at Domaine Dujac in Burgundy, By Farr has become one of Australia's great Pinot Noir estates. The Farrside vineyard, planted in 2001 on the western side of the property, consistently produces the most structured and powerful Pinot Noir in the range. Low-yielding vines, meticulous handwork and minimal intervention in the winery allow the vineyard's character to shine, resulting in a wine built for both immediate fascination and long-term cellaring.

Dark cherry, wild blackberry and blood plum unfold alongside rose petals, forest floor, baking spice and a subtle mineral lift. The palate is concentrated and tightly wound, with layers of black fruits, fine tannins and vibrant acidity creating remarkable precision and drive. Hints of whole-bunch spice, earthy savouriness and crushed rock add complexity before a long, persistent finish that speaks to the vineyard's depth and pedigree. Powerful yet graceful, this is one of Australia's benchmark Pinot Noirs and a wine that will continue to evolve beautifully over the next 15 to 20 years.
