Remi Leroy Champagne Brut 2021
Pale gold with a fine, persistent mousse, this Brut Champagne from the Côte des Bar is a precise, terroir-driven expression from Rémi Leroy, based in Meurville.
The blend is composed of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay, complemented by approximately 12% still red wine addition (Pinot Noir) to build structure and red-fruit definition. The base vintage is 2021, with reserve components contributing additional depth and continuity across the blend.
Vinification is parcel-led, combining stainless steel and oak fermentations, followed by extended lees ageing in bottle to build texture and complexity. The wine is finished with a low dosage of 3 g/L, retaining a dry, focused Brut profile while preserving a subtle roundness.
The nose is precise and lifted, showing citrus peel, redcurrant, white peach and orchard fruit, layered with brioche, toasted almond and fine chalky minerality. The palate is structured and linear, driven by high natural acidity, fine bead and a saline mineral core. The red wine component adds subtle tension, depth and a faint red-fruit accent to the mid-palate.
