Papillon is pure Pinot Noir from Ruppert-Leroy's vineyards around Essoyes in the Côte des Bar. Farmed biodynamically and made with the same minimal-intervention philosophy that defines the domaine, it is produced without dosage.
The 2022 is generous but energetic, with ripe peach, blood orange and red-fruited notes wrapped around a creamy, vinous texture. Fine bitters and mineral tension keep the richer Pinot fruit beautifully controlled, leading into a long, savoury finish.
More powerful than Fosse Grely but never heavy, this is a serious Blanc de Noirs built for the table and a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir from the Côte des Bar.

Founded by Pedro Vicente, Appellance grew from a lifelong passion for food, wine, and hospitality. After years working as a chef and travelling through wine regions, meeting growers and tasting wines at their source, it became clear that some of the most exciting wines never make it onto the shelves of large retailers.

We spend our time searching for hidden gems, great value discoveries, and special bottles from Australia and beyond, making them easy for you to access and enjoy.

We take great care in packing and storing our wines. If your order arrives damaged or faulty, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we will arrange a replacement or refund where appropriate. Due to the nature of wine, we are unable to accept returns for change of mind.
