A finely tuned, site-driven Chardonnay sourced from the Willow Lake Vineyard in the Yarra Valley, this 2024 release from Rodda Wines reflects Adrian Rodda's precise and detail-focused approach to cool climate winemaking.

Rodda Wines is the personal project of Adrian Rodda, a winemaker with more than two decades of experience including a long period working alongside David Bicknell at Oakridge Wines, where he contributed to shaping some of the country's most highly regarded Chardonnay. His own label is defined by a clear philosophy centred on site expression, restraint and precision in the cellar.

The Willow Lake Chardonnay sits squarely within that approach. Aromatics are pure and finely detailed with lemon zest, white peach, grapefruit pith and green almond lifted over subtle struck flint, oyster shell and delicate lees complexity.

The palate is taut, linear and mineral-driven with vibrant acidity and a fine chalky texture that provides shape without weight. Fruit is cool and precise, unfolding gradually through citrus and stone fruit before tightening into a long, saline and focused finish.

Oak is applied with a light and deliberate touch, adding structure and a hint of spice while allowing vineyard character to remain dominant. The result is a Chardonnay built on tension, clarity and length rather than richness or power.

A composed, high-precision cool climate Chardonnay made for those who value purity, detail and cellaring potential.
