Artuke is one of the most exciting family producers in Rioja Alavesa. Based in the village of Baños de Ebro, brothers Arturo and Kike Blanco have become known for their increasingly precise, terroir-focused wines and their commitment to expressing the distinctive vineyards of their corner of Rioja.

The 2025 Artuke is the estate’s beautifully pure and joyful introduction to their world. Made from 95% Tempranillo and 5% Viura, the fruit comes from vineyards around Baños de Ebro, planted on the clay-limestone soils that define this part of Rioja Alavesa.

The wine is made using traditional carbonic maceration, with whole bunches fermented to preserve freshness, perfume and the vibrant character of the fruit. There is no attempt here to make a powerful, heavily oaked Rioja. Instead, Artuke is all about drinkability, purity and energy.

The 2025 vintage is wonderfully expressive, offering bright strawberry, sour cherry and red berry fruit alongside floral notes and subtle spice. The palate is juicy, silky and remarkably fresh, with soft, barely perceptible tannins and a lively mineral edge.

This is Rioja at its most immediate and delicious: light on its feet, intensely aromatic and dangerously easy to drink. Serve it slightly chilled and enjoy it with tapas, charcuterie, grilled vegetables or simply good company.
