Benito Ferrara Vigna Cicogna Greco di Tufo 2024
Campania, Italy
One of the finest expressions of Greco di Tufo, from a historic family estate in the hills of Irpinia. Benito Ferrara has become a reference point for this ancient Campanian variety, crafting wines that combine power, minerality and remarkable elegance.
Made from 100% Greco di Tufo from the single vineyard of Vigna Cicogna, planted at 400–450 metres altitude on clay, sandy and calcareous soils with sulphur-rich volcanic veins beneath. The grapes are hand harvested and the wine is aged on fine lees in stainless steel, building texture and complexity while preserving the purity of the variety.
The 2024 vintage shows aromas of lemon zest, white flowers, ripe pear, almond and Mediterranean herbs. The palate is powerful yet precise, with bright acidity, deep minerality and a long savoury finish marked by the characteristic almond notes of Greco di Tufo. A white wine with the structure and seriousness of a red.
A true Appellance-style Italian white: indigenous grape, single vineyard, terroir-driven and built to age. A perfect example of why Campania produces some of Italy’s most compelling white wines.
