Renaud Bruyère and Adeline Houillon are young winemakers from the Jura working just 4.5 hectares of low-yielding vines across four plots within the Arbois and Arbois-Pupillin appellations. Based in Pupillin, the self-proclaimed World Capital of Ploussard, they produce a tiny quantity of wines that reflect the extraordinary complexity of their terroir: soils ranging from multi-coloured marls and limestone scree to clay and calcareous clay, across sites including En Aspis, La Croix Rouge, Les Tourillons, and Les Nouvelles. Their vines span from 25-year-old Chardonnay to 65-year-old Savagnin and Chardonnay, with each lieu-dit contributing its own distinct character, from the salinity and tension of Les Tourillons to the rounder, more approachable fruit of La Croix Rouge.

This wine is a 100% Savagnin from Les Nouvelles, sourced from 30-year-old vines on a steep south-facing slope of calcareous clay and limestone scree, a site Renaud and Adeline no longer work, making 2018 the final vintage from this parcel. Whole bunches were directly pressed and the wine was aged in topped-up barrels for nearly four years before bottling in June 2022. The result is lively and fresh with the energy and precision that defines their finest whites. Renaud considers it ready to drink now, though it will continue to develop gracefully for several more years. 13.5% alc.
