Bodega Chacra was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, grandson of the family behind Tuscany's legendary Sassicaia. Inspired by his grandfather's deep respect for nature and pioneering sustainable viticulture, Piero envisioned wines that expressed the purest sense of place.

Piero's restored vineyards sit in Patagonia's Rio Negro Valley, in the village of Mainqué. Originally planted in 1932 and 1955, these ancient ungrafted vines have been revived through organic and biodynamic farming. Deeply rooted in sandy soils, they produce naturally low yields of intensely expressive fruit — wines of extraordinary energy, purity, and profound connection to their origin.

Since 2017, Piero has partnered with renowned Burgundian vigneron Jean-Marc Roulot to plant, farm, and vinify Chardonnay. This friendship has become one of the world's most exciting collaborations, producing benchmark Chardonnay alongside Chacra's celebrated Pinot Noirs. Fruit is hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts in concrete, handled gently by gravity, and bottled with minimal intervention — allowing each vineyard to speak with clarity, elegance, and authenticity.

Chacra Sin Azufre Pinot Noir 2025

A passion project for Piero that he personally oversees. Bunch selection from the 1955 vineyard, aged mostly in concrete with extreme attention to detail and zero sulphur.

"Aromas of watermelon, dried strawberries and orange peel… Medium-bodied with fine tannins that show softness and a light, velvety texture… Only 11.5% alcohol." — 95pts James Suckling
