Founded by cousins Élian and Matéo Paturé, Maison Paturé is a boutique Négociant-Manipulant based in Avize, one of the great Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs. Working exclusively with Grand Cru Chardonnay from Avize, Oger and Cramant, the house produces small-batch, parcel-driven Champagnes that place the chalky character of the Côte des Blancs firmly at the centre.

Avize has long been considered one of the great Chardonnay villages of Champagne, historically forming part of what was known as the Côte d'Avize before the 1911 Échelle des Crus classification. Today, it remains home to some of the region's most sought-after growers, including Jacques Selosse and La Rogerie.

Premiers Pas is a 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay Blanc de Blancs built around a 2021 base vintage with 55% reserve wine. Fermented in tank with malolactic fermentation, the wine spends three years on its lees, with a small portion of oak-aged wine adding further texture and complexity. It is finished at zero dosage, allowing the purity of the Grand Cru fruit and chalky terroir to take centre stage.

Delicate yet intensely focused, with vibrant citrus, fine chalky minerality and remarkable aromatic precision. The extended lees ageing brings depth and a beautifully refined texture, while the zero dosage keeps the finish long, dry and energetic.

The final dosage is particularly distinctive: just 1cl of wine from a single Avize parcel, carefully selected by Élian and Matéo to give Premiers Pas its signature expression.
