Champagne Mathilde Savoye Blanc de Meunier NV
Founded in 2017, Mathilde Savoye is part of a new generation of grower-producers in the Vallée de la Marne, building a reputation around the expressive potential of Pinot Meunier. Working sustainably and with minimal intervention, her wines combine pure fruit, vibrant freshness and a distinctly Burgundian sense of texture and precision.
This Blanc de Meunier comes from two exceptional parcels: Les Chapelleries in Cuchery, planted in 1962, and La Loge des Vignes in Baslieux-sous-Châtillon, planted in 2004 and 2007. The 2022 harvest was hand-picked as whole bunches before five months of ageing in stainless steel on fine lees, followed by 15 months of bottle ageing on lees.
Full and generous, with an expressive nose of white fruits leading into a beautifully rounded palate. The texture is remarkably smooth and almost creamy, while vibrant freshness keeps the wine precise and energetic. It has an impressive level of refinement for a 100% Meunier, with a style that recalls the precision and silky, milky texture of Élise Bougy.
A seriously compelling Meunier from a producer to watch — the kind of Champagne that shows just how sophisticated and age-worthy the variety can be.
