Rozas del Puerto Real sits at 900 metres above sea level at the apex of the Tietar Valley, where two mountain ranges converge to enclose the town from three sides. The soils here are granitic with a little more silt, alluvial material and iron present than the more extreme sites in Alto Alberche, and it is this that gives Rozas its character: the most fruit-dense and seductive of the Comando G village wines, a Grenache of real depth and warmth that never loses its granite spine.

Comando G was founded in 2008 by Dani and Fer, two friends from the Sierra de Gredos who set out to rescue old vineyards from abandonment and restore the largely forgotten wine villages of the region. Almost single-handedly they introduced the wine world to the Gredos, establishing it as the benchmark for elegant, pure Garnacha. Rozas is their village-level expression for this particular corner of the appellation, sitting above their regional La Bruja and below the single-parcel Grand Cru wines including the cult Rumbo al Norte.

The 2023 vintage is organically farmed on old-vine Grenache, vinified with minimal intervention to let the terroir of Rozas speak as clearly as possible.
