Domaine Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette 2024 Beaujolais
Domaine Daniel Bouland Morgon Corcelette 2024 is the first of three single-parcel cuvées from this celebrated Morgon climat, here expressing the sandy, granitic soils that define Corcelette’s more perfumed and finely textured side. Compared with the more structured schist-influenced sectors of Morgon, this terroir consistently yields wines of greater aromatic lift, softer tannin architecture and an almost Chambolle-like sense of finesse.
The fruit comes from Bouland’s “younger” Corcelette vines, which still average around 60 years of age—reflecting just how old the estate’s material is even at entry level. His oldest parcels from the same lieu-dit are reserved for separate Vieilles Vignes bottlings, reinforcing the precision with which he delineates site and vine age.
As always at Bouland, winemaking is traditional and minimally interventionist: whole-bunch fermentation with indigenous yeasts, followed by gentle extraction and foot treading to extend maceration and preserve purity without harsh tannin. The result is a style that prioritises transparency, texture and terroir over overt winemaking imprint.
The 2024 is the most immediately approachable of the Corcelette trio. It shows a silky, open-knit profile with bright blueberry, red cherry and lifted floral tones, complemented by subtle sarsaparilla and spice. The palate is seamless and finely structured, with soft yet present tannins and a fluid, elegant shape that makes it highly seductive in its youth while still retaining the underlying Morgon depth Bouland is known for.
A pure, finely detailed expression of Gamay that captures Corcelette’s hallmark combination of perfume, finesse and understated power.
