La Ripaille is one of Domaine du Collier's most compelling expressions of Cabernet Franc, produced by Antoine Foucault from a single parcel in Brézé. Foucault, son of the late Charly Foucault of Clos Rougeard, has established Domaine du Collier as one of the Loire Valley's most revered and elusive producers.

The 2022 La Ripaille follows the exceptional form of recent vintages, displaying remarkable depth while retaining the silky elegance that defines the domaine. The nose opens with concentrated blackberry, cassis and delicate leafy notes, leading into a sumptuous palate of dark fruit, fine mineral character and beautifully integrated tannins.

There is a remarkable combination of richness and elegance here. The texture is exceptionally silky, while the wine carries serious concentration, depth and structure. A fine mineral core and subtle savoury character provide freshness and precision, with the fruit and tannins showing the sweetness and harmony found in great Cabernet Franc.

Already incredibly attractive to drink, La Ripaille has the structure to develop considerably with age. Expect this to reach its peak over the next 10–20 years, potentially longer.
