Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2025
The 2025 Polish Hill Riesling leads with a surprisingly delicate and floral nose. Usually, of the two wines, the Springvale is slightly softer, more open and approachable on release, whereas the Polish Hill is all power and muscle and built for long term aging. Here, the wine has a powerfully focused acid line, however the fruit is soft and plush, with notes of white rose, scratched lime zest, mandarin oil, river stone and white spice. The floral aspect is striking yet restrained, avoiding any sense of excess. This is a beauty. 12.3 percent alcohol, sealed under screw cap. 96 Pts, Erin Larkin - The Wine Advocate.
A benchmark of Australian Riesling from the elevated slopes of the Clare Valley, Polish Hill is a wine that lives in tension, coiled, electric and built as much for time as for now.
Sourced from biodynamically farmed vines and bottled bone dry, the 2025 carries both power and finesse in equal measure, a vintage defined by pristine fruit and remarkable clarity.
The nose is intensely fragrant yet precise, with lime zest, lemon blossom and kaffir lime layered with crushed slate and a faint floral lift. There is a purity here that feels almost crystalline, the aromatics sharp but never aggressive.
On the palate it tightens immediately, driven by a line of pure citrus, lime juice, grapefruit and subtle white peach wrapped around a core of slate and stone. The acidity is striking, finely etched and electric, carrying the wine with focus and energy, yet balanced by a quiet softness at its centre.
The finish is long, mineral and unwavering, leaving a trail of citrus, salt and stone that lingers with precision and intent.
A Riesling that feels both immediate and enduring, thrilling in its youth while clearly built to evolve for decades.
