Jean-François Ganevat is one of the Jura’s most revered vignerons, a 14th-generation grower whose wines have become cult references for their precision, individuality and extraordinary longevity. Working organically and biodynamically across an exceptional collection of old-vine parcels, Ganevat combines meticulous vineyard work with a minimalist approach in the cellar. His wines possess a Burgundian finesse while retaining the freshness, energy and unmistakable personality of the Jura.

Antide, named after Jean-François’ youngest son, is a rare and particularly compelling expression of Jura Savagnin. The 2018 comes from old vines, around 40–70 years of age, planted across marl, schist and limestone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and naturally vinified with indigenous yeasts, without filtration or added sulphur.

What makes this vintage especially remarkable is the extraordinary length of élevage. The wine was given around seven years of ageing on its lees, in demi-muids and stoneware amphora, allowing the Savagnin to develop immense depth and complexity while retaining its mineral energy.

The result is a profound, concentrated white with an intensely complex aromatic profile of fresh walnut and almond, preserved lemon, mirabelle, brioche, curry, ginger and flinty mineral notes. There is a refined oxidative-like complexity, but the wine remains remarkably vibrant and precise, driven by high acidity and a deeply savoury, saline character.

On the palate, Antide is powerful yet beautifully controlled, with dense, sapid texture and tremendous length. The extended élevage has given the wine a seamless combination of richness, freshness and savoury complexity, while the finish seems almost endless.
