Lucy Margaux 'Rosé Classique' 2025 Adelaide Hills

$27 In any mixed 6
$32 Per single bottle

A vibrant, minimal-intervention rosé from the Adelaide Hills, made from a seasonal field blend of red varieties typically grown across cool-climate South Australian vineyards. The exact composition varies by vintage, but is generally led by Pinot Noir, with supporting varieties such as Gamay, Grenache and other aromatic red grapes, selected to preserve freshness, perfume and lift.

Fruit is harvested early and given a short period of skin contact before gentle pressing, with fermentation carried out using wild yeasts and minimal intervention to retain natural expression and vintage character.

The nose is bright and expressive, showing wild strawberry, watermelon and pink grapefruit, layered with rose petal, citrus zest and a subtle herbal lift. A faint fermentative nuance adds complexity and a sense of energy.

On the palate, it is light-bodied, crisp and refreshing, driven by juicy red berry fruit and zesty acidity. The texture is soft and flowing, with a delicate savoury edge and just a hint of phenolic grip adding structure. The finish is dry, clean and moreish, with lingering red fruit and citrus peel.

Producer background:
Lucy Margaux is a Basket Range–based natural winemaking project in the Adelaide Hills led by Anton van Klopper. The philosophy centres on organic farming, wild fermentation, and minimal or no additions, with a strong emphasis on expressing vineyard variability and seasonal character rather than fixed varietal consistency.

“Rosé Classique” reflects this approach through a flexible field-blend composition, resulting in a rosé that is expressive, textural and designed for immediate drinking rather than cellaring.
