Anton van Klopper has been making wines under the Lucy Margaux name in the Adelaide Hills for more than two decades, becoming one of the defining figures of Australia’s natural wine movement. His approach is deliberately minimal, working with carefully farmed fruit and allowing the wines to develop without forcing them into a particular style.

This 2024 cuvée brings together Savagnin and Chardonnay, two varieties that complement each other particularly well. Chardonnay provides generosity, orchard fruit and texture, while Savagnin brings its distinctive citrus character, freshness and savoury tension.

In the glass it moves between lemon and ripe yellow fruit, green apple, subtle florals and gentle spice, with a mineral, slightly saline quality appearing as the wine opens. The palate has real texture but remains lifted and energetic, finishing fresh, savoury and persistent. A wonderfully individual Adelaide Hills white and a great introduction to the more expressive side of Lucy Margaux.
