LVDO is the Adelaide Hills project of Marcell Kustos, a producer driven by experimentation, precision and a refusal to make predictable wines. The 2025 releases are his most refined and complex collection to date, following an uncompromising selection process that dramatically reduced production.

The Forreston Chardonnay comes from the Lansdowne Vineyard, planted in 2005 at 420 metres elevation in the Adelaide Hills. Made in tiny quantities, this is Chardonnay with a distinctly savoury and textural personality. Marcell describes the style as filling a gap in the Australian Chardonnay landscape: salty, complex and gently oxidative, with a subtle Jura-like sensibility while remaining unmistakably Australian.

The fruit was hand-harvested over three separate passes, with most pressed directly and a small portion receiving three hours of skin contact. Fermentation took place in tank and an old French hogshead before the wine spent 15 months resting on fine lees without racking. The result is a layered, mineral and characterful Chardonnay with texture, freshness and serious complexity.
