Nibiru is the small project of Julia Nather and Juan Amador in Austria’s Kamptal, where they work organically with old vineyards around the village of Schönberg. Their approach is deliberately hands-off, with careful farming, spontaneous fermentations and minimal intervention in the cellar producing wines built around freshness, texture and the character of their individual sites.

This Grüner Veltliner comes from Schönberg and shows the more mineral, savoury side of the variety. Rather than chasing overt fruit or richness, Nibiru builds the wine around tension and texture, giving it plenty of detail while remaining incredibly drinkable.

Green pear, crisp apple and citrus sit alongside white pepper, fresh herbs and a distinctly stony mineral character. The palate is textured and energetic, with bright acidity carrying the fruit into a dry, savoury and gently saline finish. Grüner with a little more depth and personality, while still retaining the freshness that makes the variety so appealing.
