Ruggeri Corsini Rosin Langhe Rose 2023

This is the kind of rosé I get excited about, full of personality and finally one with real flavour.

Made from Nebbiolo, the same grape behind Barolo, and you can feel it. There’s that familiar lift of rose petal, blood orange and wild strawberry, but with a savoury edge that makes it so much more interesting than your usual rosé.

On the palate it’s fresh but with texture, a gentle grip that reminds you this comes from serious fruit. It’s lively, a little structured, and just far more expressive than most.

A rosé with something to say, and one I keep going back to.100% nebbiolo fruit from Barolo (Monforte)

93 Points, Gary Walsh (TWF) – “A more complex and savoury style here. Red cherry, dried flowers, something of a bresaola thing, plus a little spice, dried orange peel, and peanut oil. It’s fleshy and nutty, redcurrant and cherry, a juicy blood orange tang, fine powdery grip, with a saline finish of good length. Quite the umami thing here, and very good it is too.”
