Xiaopu Perdue 22.2
The middle expression of the Perdue 22 series, 22.2 sits between the delicate 22.1 and the more generous 22.3. Made from Pinot Noir grown in Tianshui, Gansu, the wine is naturally fermented with native yeasts and sees light extraction, with the focus firmly on blending and freshness.
The nose brings smoked Chinese sour plum, raspberry candy, flint and a subtle medicinal note. On the palate, it becomes juicy and generous, with flavours of smoked plum, red berry, fennel stem and blackcurrant leaf, balanced by bright acidity and fine, savoury tannins.
A beautifully unusual Pinot Noir that combines juicy red fruit with smoky, herbal and mineral notes. More structured and expressive than 22.1, but with more restraint than 22.3.
